Yamaha R15 V4 Quickshifter Now Available in Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White

Yamaha has given R15 V4 buyers a little more freedom when choosing their motorcycle. The company has expanded the availability of the quickshifter-equipped Yamaha R15 V4 to two additional colour options – Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White.
Until now, buyers looking for the R15 V4 with a quickshifter had a much more limited choice, with the feature available on the Intensity White version. The latest update doesn't change the engine or chassis, but it does make one of the R15's sportier features available in two popular colours.
Yamaha R15 V4 Quickshifter Price
The Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White versions equipped with the quickshifter are priced at Rs 1,79,500 (ex-showroom).
The same colours without the quickshifter cost Rs 1,74,850 (ex-showroom). That puts the price difference at Rs 4,650.

What Does the R15 V4 Quickshifter Do?
The R15 V4 uses a unidirectional quickshifter. In simple terms, it allows the rider to shift up through the gearbox without operating the clutch lever during acceleration.
This isn't a bidirectional system, so clutchless downshifts aren't part of the package. Even so, it is a useful feature on a small sports bike like the R15, particularly when riding enthusiastically.
More importantly, buyers no longer need to pick only one paint scheme if a factory-equipped quickshifter is high on their priority list.
No Changes to the 155cc Engine
Yamaha hasn't used this update to make any mechanical changes. The R15 V4 continues with its familiar 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA).
The engine produces around 18.4 hp and 14.2 Nm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
This engine has been one of the defining parts of the R15 package, combining relatively modest displacement with a high-revving character that suits the motorcycle's supersport-inspired design.
Racing Blue Is an Important Addition
Of the two newly added options, Racing Blue is arguably the most familiar R15 colour. Blue has long been closely associated with Yamaha's performance motorcycles, so making the quickshifter version available in this shade gives buyers a combination that was noticeably missing before.
Matte Pearl White takes a different approach. Its lighter finish gives the R15 a cleaner appearance while retaining the same aggressive fairing and aerodynamic styling.
R15 V4 Remains Mechanically Unchanged
Beyond the expanded quickshifter availability, this is not a new-generation R15 or a major mechanical update.
The motorcycle continues with the same engine, six-speed transmission, chassis and core equipment. That means existing R15 V4 buyers aren't missing a major performance upgrade; Yamaha has primarily widened the number of configurations available to new customers.

Does the Update Make a Difference?
On paper, the R15 V4 hasn't become faster or more powerful with this update. What has improved is buyer choice.
Someone who wanted Racing Blue, for example, previously had to choose between their preferred colour and the factory quickshifter configuration. With the feature now available on Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White as well, that compromise has been reduced.
The Rs 4,650 premium also keeps the quickshifter version reasonably close to the corresponding standard variant rather than creating an entirely separate high-priced trim.
What We Think
This is a small update, but it makes sense for the R15 V4. A quickshifter fits naturally with the motorcycle's sporty character, and limiting it to very few colour choices made the buying decision unnecessarily restrictive.
Racing Blue in particular feels like an obvious match for the feature. Riders who don't care about clutchless upshifts can still choose the regular version and save Rs 4,650, while those who want the extra bit of sports-bike experience now have more choice.
