BGauss Launches Oowah Electric Scooter Range, Aimed at Gen Z Buyers
BGauss has added a new electric scooter to its India lineup with the launch of the Oowah, a range the company is positioning as its first entry built specifically for young, first-time EV buyers rather than the broader commuter or family segment its other models target. The Oowah is priced from ₹94,990 and goes up to ₹1,22,990 (ex-showroom) depending on variant, and is now available across BGauss dealerships nationwide with deliveries already underway.
A Removable Battery Built for Flexible Charging
At the core of the Oowah is a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack ranging from 2.3kWh to 3.0kWh across variants, delivering an ARAI-certified riding range of between 105km and 145km depending on which version you pick. Crucially, the battery is removable, letting owners carry it indoors to charge — a feature aimed squarely at buyers who don't have access to dedicated home charging points, which remains a common hurdle for EV adoption in many Indian cities. Top speed across the range tops out at 60km/h, positioning the Oowah firmly as a city-commuting scooter rather than a performance-focused one.
Designed Around Everyday Ownership, Not Just Looks
While the styling is clearly the headline draw — BGauss is leaning hard into bold, youth-oriented design language with flush body panels and vibrant dual-tone colour options — the feature list is built around simplifying everyday ownership too. That includes reverse assist for easier parking and manoeuvring in tight spaces, a side-stand sensor for added safety, a distance-to-empty indicator to help riders plan trips with more confidence, full LED lighting, and a USB charging port for keeping devices topped up on the move. The scooter also offers a generous 21-litre underseat storage compartment, a practical touch for a model that's otherwise aimed at style-conscious younger riders.
Colour Options and Variants
The Oowah range is available in colours including Emerald Shadow, Jamun Punch, Zesty Red and Tangy Toma, with additional shades offered depending on variant. The lineup spans from the base Oowah EX at ₹94,990 up to the range-topping Oowah Max Plus at ₹1,22,990, which adds the larger 3.0kWh battery pack and the longer 145km claimed range.
Where It Fits in the Market
At this price point, the Oowah goes up against scooters like the TVS iQube and Vida VX2, both of which compete in a similar bracket for buyers weighing their first electric two-wheeler purchase. BGauss says India's electric two-wheeler market has already crossed 1.11 million units sold in the first seven months of 2026, with monthly EV penetration now above 11% of total two-wheeler sales — context the company is using to justify expanding its own portfolio further into the youth and first-time-buyer segment, alongside its existing commuter and performance-oriented models.
