Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Vulcan S in India at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom), bringing a few updates to its middleweight cruiser. The MY27 motorcycle continues with the familiar 649cc parallel-twin engine but now produces 62.4 Nm of peak torque. Kawasaki has also introduced a new colour scheme and revised braking hardware.
The latest update does not completely redesign the Vulcan S. Instead, Kawasaki has focused on minor mechanical and visual changes while retaining the motorcycle's distinctive low-slung cruiser styling.

649cc Parallel-Twin Engine Gets More Torque
The 2027 Vulcan S continues to use Kawasaki's proven 649cc liquid-cooled, DOHC parallel-twin engine.
The engine produces 61 PS at 7,500 rpm and 62.4 Nm of maximum torque at 6,600 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
The 62.4 Nm torque figure represents an increase compared with the 61 Nm output listed for the previous model. However, this output is not entirely new to the Vulcan S, as similar torque figures have been offered on earlier versions of the motorcycle.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S Gets Revised Brakes
One of the more noticeable mechanical changes for MY27 is the revised braking hardware.
The motorcycle now uses a 272 mm front disc and a 216 mm rear disc. The previous version used larger 300 mm and 250 mm discs at the front and rear respectively.

New Colour for the 2027 Vulcan S
Kawasaki has also refreshed the motorcycle's appearance with a new Metallic Carbon Gray / Metallic Bluish Green colour combination.
The new finish maintains the dark cruiser appearance of the Vulcan S while adding subtle green detailing associated with Kawasaki's brand identity.
Suspension Setup
The suspension setup remains largely familiar. At the front, the Vulcan S uses a 41 mm telescopic fork with 130 mm of wheel travel.
At the rear, it gets a linkage-type monoshock offering 80 mm of travel, along with preload adjustment.
Low 705 mm Seat Height
One of the biggest attractions of the Kawasaki Vulcan S continues to be its low 705 mm seat height.
The low seat can make the motorcycle more approachable when stopping or manoeuvring at lower speeds, although its 235 kg kerb weight still makes it a substantial motorcycle.

14-Litre Fuel Tank
The Vulcan S continues with a 14-litre fuel tank. Combined with its relaxed cruiser ergonomics, the motorcycle is designed to work for both everyday riding and longer highway journeys.
Instrument Console and Features
Kawasaki continues with the Vulcan S's familiar analogue-digital instrument console rather than switching to a full-colour TFT display.
The feature package remains relatively straightforward, with dual-channel ABS being the major electronic safety feature. The motorcycle does not attempt to compete with newer models by offering an extensive suite of riding modes and electronic rider aids.
