Bajaj Sales Breakup August 2026 – Chetak Up 273%, Pulsar Down 9%

Bajaj Auto sold 1,85,302 two-wheelers in India in August 2026, up 8.33% from 1,71,049 units in August 2025. The growth came almost entirely from the Chetak electric scooter, as several of Bajaj's motorcycle ranges posted lower numbers.

Chetak: The Star Performer

Chetak sales jumped 272.83% to 52,248 units, compared with 14,014 units a year ago. That is an increase of over 38,000 units, more than enough to cover the drop across Pulsar, Platina, CT and Freedom. Chetak now makes up 28.2% of Bajaj's domestic sales, making it the company's second-biggest range.

Pulsar Slips 9%

Pulsar remained Bajaj's biggest seller with 97,839 units, though sales fell 9.33% year on year. The decline came mainly from the smaller models:

• 125cc Pulsars: 48,935 units (down 16.98%)
• 150cc Pulsars: 15,840 units (down 21.53%)
• 160–200cc Pulsars: 24,173 units (up 5.99%)
• 220–250cc Pulsars: 7,179 units (up 20.15%)
• NS400Z: 1,712 units

Other Models

• Platina: 26,997 units, down 30.97%, the biggest drop in Bajaj's lineup
• CT: 3,102 units, down 47.47%
• Avenger: 2,127 units, up 30.65%, all from the 220cc model
• Dominar: 1,894 units, up 203%, driven by the Dominar 400
• Freedom CNG: 1,095 units, down 41.07%

What's Next

Bajaj is refreshing the Pulsar range ahead of the festive season. The Pulsar 125 and 150 have been updated, the NS400Z now has a TFT variant, the NS125 has been updated, and an upgraded RS200 with USD forks has been spotted testing. Bajaj is also offering festive benefits of up to Rs 12,000 on select Pulsars, which could help sales recover in the coming months.
