Two-Wheeler News Roundup, Triumph Bonneville T4 Launch
By 91Bikes Team
Triumph has officially introduced its entry-level modern-classic retro roadster in India. The Triumph Bonneville T4 has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹2.54 lakh, sitting alongside its more premium sibling, the T40.
The new motorcycle builds upon Triumph's 400cc single-cylinder platform co-developed with Bajaj, bringing classic British heritage styling at an accessible price point aimed directly at the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda CB350.
Engine Performance and Chassis Setup
The Bonneville T4 is powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve DOHC single-cylinder engine tuned for strong bottom-end and midrange tractability. It produces 32 PS of maximum power and 36 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch.
Suspension duties are handled by 43mm telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. Braking is managed by disc brakes at both ends with switchable dual-channel ABS as standard equipment.
Design and Modern Rider Tech
The motorcycle features traditional retro roadster proportions: a teardrop fuel tank, circular LED headlamp, spoked-style alloy wheels, and a relaxed, upright riding stance. Despite its heritage appearance, it incorporates modern essentials including ride-by-wire throttle, circular TFT-integrated instrumentation, and cruise control.
What Should Interested Buyers Watch Next?
While the ex-showroom pricing positions the Bonneville T4 competitively against both 350cc and 400cc roadsters, real-world ownership considerations should be evaluated before placing a booking.
Before making a purchase decision, riders should check:
- City-wise on-road cost: Account for RTO road taxes, insurance premiums, and mandatory delivery handling charges across different states.
- Riding ergonomics: Assess seat height, handlebar reach, and low-speed balance during a dealership test ride.
- Pillion comfort: Check rear seat cushioning and footpeg positioning if you regularly ride two-up.
- Dealer & service network: Verify local Triumph-Bajaj dealership availability for routine service schedules and spares access.
