By 91Bikes Team

Italian brand VLF (Velocifero) has launched the Strada electric scooter in India at a starting price of Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). VLF scooters are sold and serviced in India by Kolhapur-based Motohaus, and the Strada replaces the Tennis, the brand's first Indian model.

VLF Strada Price and Variants

VariantBatteryIDC RangePrice
City2.16 kWh (1 battery)130 kmRs 1.20 lakh
Max4.32 kWh (2 batteries)250 kmRs 1.55 lakh

Bookings are open on the Motohaus website for Rs 999 (City) and Rs 1,999 (Max).

Motor, Battery and Performance

Both variants use a hub-mounted BLDC motor with 4.8 kW peak power and 34 Nm of torque. The LFP batteries are removable, and both motor and batteries are IP67 rated. There are three ride modes:

  • Eco: 45 kph top speed
  • City: 65 kph top speed
  • Sport: 85 kph top speed

VLF claims a 20–100% charge takes about three hours for one battery and six hours for both.

Big Wheels and Light Weight

The Strada stands out with a 16-inch front wheel and 14-inch rear wheel, larger than most scooters in this segment, which should help stability. Seat height is 780 mm, ground clearance is 175 mm, and the claimed kerb weight is just 98 kg. Braking is by discs at both ends with a combined braking system (CBS), but there is no ABS.

Features and Colours

  • 5-inch TFT display
  • All-LED lighting with dual-projector headlamps
  • Integrated windshield and luggage rack
  • Keyless ignition

Colours: Carbonio Black, Luna White, Titanio Grey and Urbano Silver.

Rivals

The Strada takes on the TVS iQube 2.2, TVS Orbiter, Bajaj Chetak C2501, Ather Konarc and Vida VX2 Go. It costs more than most of them, but the 250 km range of the Max variant and the larger wheels give it a clear edge on paper.
